May 2005 Blog Prompts New Blogging Strategy

After reading Blog or Build It I decided a new blogging strategy for my Change Career With Purpose Website is in order.

For example, this page entitled 200505 is how I got caught up in the blogging craze and wrote several career focused blog entries for May 2005.

But my May 2005, 200505 webpage, was based on the blogging advice offered then. Now I have a different blogging perspective based on the referenced blogging article above.

The statement that caught my attention is one that many of those caught up in blogging experience eventually, Blogging Burnout.

Professional bloggers, and professional promoters of blogging, usually fail to mention the "dated-content treadmill" that they so desperately run upon every day. What happens when you stop blogging? You watch your traffic melt away. Why? Because Search Engines know that blog posts are like newspapers... good only for wrapping fish after a few days.

A while back I realized that I had burned out blogging on this Change-career-with-purpose.com News Blog. For those who have followed Change Career, With Purpose, News, you too noticed my blogging entries stopped awhile back.

Writing consistent blogs for some reason became a diversion to what I really want to do, which is to write career focused articles on my website that are not tied to a specific calendar date.

A New Career Focused RSS Feed Started

Change Career With Purpose News will have a new "RSS home" for its RSS feed. What will replace it is more of a Career Focused Web Journal Blog, which will let you know whenever any new or changed Web pages appear on the Change-Career-With-Purpose.com website.

To be honest, I have discovered I am not disciplined enough to write a typical blog that requires lots of blog site hand-holding. I own up to being very scattered and so will let my whenever I get to it approach work with me rather than haunt me.

Career Focused Blog Feed

I am also changing the web address of this RSS feed, which is the one that you may have subscribed to. That means The Change Career News Blog feed will soon not be active any longer and, as you may have noticed, I have deleted all the new pages and changes that were previously here. (Hopefully I have figured out how to do this.)

You need to delete the old RSS URL address and replace with my new one, by doing the following...

Right-click (control-click for Mac users) on the orange button below.

Then...

Select Copy Shortcut ("Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac), and paste that URL into your RSS Reader.

And that's it! You're subscribed.

 Right-click and get started.

My blog articles for May 2005 (thus the 200505 name for this page)reflected what at that time was perceived to be a great economy in which to purchase San Diego real estate.

There was some great content and I have determined to repurpose those articles a new web pages in this career focused website.

Real Estate Careers And Ministry

First 200505 entry, this blog article focused upon real estate careers and of course, those in the Real Estate Career Sector who also were focused upon ministry careers too.

Of course May 2005 was just before the San Diego Real Estate Bubble Burst, and the worst possible time for us to buy real estate in San Diego.

Many of the people I focused on are no longer in real estate jobs. Hopefully they still have a ministry focused mindset, no matter what career change decision they made following the declining San Diego real estate market.

Of course like many, we are in 2009 fighting foreclosure even though we have signed several short sale offers made on our dumb San Diego house purchase.

I plan to rewrite those real estate blogs that reveal the greed of all of us caught up in the San Diego real estate bubble.
