02-02-2007 - Cricket Communication Enters The Wireless Cellphone Niche

Cricket Communication's Wireless Niche

My nephew was realy sold on the company he worked for. They are blessed to have him as an enthusiastic spokesperson too.

A new wireless provider in the competive telecommunication industry means more than just greater competition in the wireless cell phone market. It means job opportunites in the communication career field. My nephew has long bragged to me about this great company he works for as an IT technician -- Cricket Wireless Communications.

Cricket's wireless niche has been created by combining the best of the basic landline phone and the traditional wireless phone. I am excited to see that this San Diego based wireless provider finally has cellphone service in San Diego.

They must be doing something right because Cricket is currently offered in 20 states and is growing as one of the fastest wireless communication companies. That interests me because I need to change wireless providers but I also see new career opportunities for those thinking to change career direction.

With more than 37% of our over 1.4 million customers using Cricket as their primary phone, Cricket Wireless is leading the national trend of shifting calls and minutes from traditional landline service to wireless phones. Cricket does this by offering a very affordable, local wireless service.

Cricket offers a simple cell phone program that is also a very affordable mobile phone service. These affordable cell phone factors is very appealing to customers and local businesses like me who want flat-rate, unlimited service over a high-quality, all-digital wireless network.

Their cellphone wireless niche is thise: Cricket wireless service is designed to provide business class customers reliable wireless service by focusing on geographical areas that are under-served by traditional communications companies.

Leap Communications, a San Diego based company, launched Cricket to provide small business owners as well as the general wireless public, a unique wireless program featuring:

  • unlimited local and domestic long distance anytime minutes
  • no long-term commitments,
  • and no credit checks required for wireless service.

  • feature-rich mobile applications such as unlimited text messaging and picture messaging,
  • some of the most cell phone popular games,

05-02-2007 - Affordable Internet Marketing Report: My Initial Response --

I was challenged to write internet marketing reports focusing on affordable internet marketing strategies. Offering shorter theme focused information products is a profitable affiliate marketing strategy for the Christian home based business when the prices are kept low.

05-02-2007 - My Reaction To The $7 Secret...

I just finished writing my reaction to The $7.00 Secret cheap, affordable internet marketing report about creating and selling small informational reports for $7 each, found at http://www.change-career-with-purpose.com/7-dollar-strategy.

My first response was "finally, an inexpensive way to launch an internet information product".

I share how I began to have doubts that a $7 affiliate marketing strategy could possibly be worth even 7 bucks, which led me to response #2 regarding this so called secret internet marketing tool.

Read more about my other responses, including how I overcame my skepticism that such an inexpensive ebook publishing strategy book could possible be worth it.

But then I asked, "What if it really is an amazing marketing secret that would launch my home based information business into the next level of internet business profitability?"

06-02-2007 - Defining Pastoral Care

Defining Pastoral Care

by Chaplain Paul Slater Director of Spiritual Care LightBridge Hospice, San Diego, CA

What Is Pastoral Care?

I see pastoral care as a person-centered, spiritual approach to persons in crisis of some kind. The focus of pastoral care is upon inner healing of the person in crisis, whereby the pastoral care giver offers guidance, support, tools aiding reconciliation, to empower them to discover spiritual resources from within.

Pastoral care workers, through skilled companionship, provide those they serve with support not only to confront particular situations, but also to explore the possibilities for personal and spiritual growth, helping those in crisis to draw upon inner spiritual resources already present within them.

Who Provides Pastoral Care?

Pastoral care workers provide person-centered care to individuals, usually in the context of a crisis, whether personal or within community such as a disaster or tragedy.

Pastoral care focuses upon "the spiritual", and arises out of assessment of spiritual needs as people deal with the crisis they are in.

Pastoral care involves determining spiritual interventions that will lead to enabling the person in crisis to move from a problem focused mindset to a solution focused mindset.

For example, in the healthcare setting, pastoral care could include the following spiritual interventions:

  • Routine spiritual interventions: together with other members of what is called the interdisciplinary healthcare team, pastoral care workers seek to build relationships of trust within which people receiving treatment, their families, and their friends can explore matters of deep personal concern as well as issues of direct clinical relevance.
  • Reactive spiritual interventions: if unexpected problems occur, pastoral care workers may be involved in offering personal support, mobilizing appropriate referrals to community resources, or exploring existential issues that emerge from encountering and addressing those problems.
  • Proactive interventions: as spiritual needs are identified through both routine and reactive care, pastoral care workers coordinate assessment of those needs, develop strategies directed toward spiritual support and growth, and work cooperatively with other members of the interdisciplinary team in implementing these strategies.

Determining What Pastoral Care Looks Like In The Real World

  • Is the word pastor a verb or a noun?
  • Is pastor a title or a function?
  • What images come to mind when you hear the term "pastoral care"?
  • If the context of providing pastoral care is crisis, what in your estimation constitutes a crisis?
  • What are the key competencies required of the pastoral caregiver?
  • What are the vocational possibilities and career options for a pastoral caregiver?
  • How are you a pastoral care giver in your present role in life?

14-02-2007 - Career Change And School Loan Consolidation. . .

Returning To College Raises Questions About Obtaining College Loans

School loan consolidation has been a topic of conversation at our house because my son has returned to college after a long absence.

One of the questions we had was what to do about some decades old school loans. Now we know from the past that school loan consolidation is one of the easiest ways to reduce college student debt.

What a school loan consolidation is, in case your missed this information in College Debt Consolidation 101, is like any other mortgage debt consolidation or mortgage refinance.

What To Do With Previous College Loans

I suggested he explore what a school loan consolidation program could do to help him with his past college debts and his future college loan options.

We hear a lot of hype that school loan consolidation is a good strategy to organize all of the past college loans into one simple loan, helping you manage your college debts efficiently.

I'll keep you posted on our school loan consolidation discoveries as we learn more.

22-02-2007 - Business Card Free Offers: What About VistaPrint Free Business Cards

Sometimes Free Is Too Expensive

Why would a printing company offer Custom Printed Free Business Cards?

Everybody likes the keyword free when it comes to ordering necessary business products. So when you and I see business cards offered free, the too good to be true red flag usually goes up in our minds.

What's the catch? should be our first question if we are careful internet shoppers. (I do hope you do not click on those career offer emails like the ones you get saying representatives needed because they are almost always a scam.)

But what about an ad for Free Business Cards, offering 250 full-color business cards free?

Understand What Free Business Products Means

Well, let me explain. The Vista Business Card Offer is based on the same principle of sample marketing you find on your Costco shopping trip.

The business concept behind business product free samples is that you will order the product once you taste the sample. Of course, notice that in this business product sample, you are expected to pay for shipping and processing of your free business card.

25-02-2007 - My Career Change Coach Endeavor

Recently, Dan Miller, wrote 48 Days To The Job You Love reached what I consider the big time status for writers -- having your book sold by Costco. Forget being on the New York Times Best Seller list, just be on Costco's book table.

He wrote in a recent newsletter an article quoting Entrepreneur.com about Baby Boomer Career Coaching. Miller stated:

We all know about the needs of the 71.5 million Baby Boomers. Some have been forced out of their jobs - and they're ticked off about having to find another job or career. Those are tough to deal with. But many have chosen to leave what they've been doing and see this as a positive transition into a more fulfilling season of their lives. Those are the ones that are fun to work with.

28-02-2007 - Defining Purpose In Career Change Decisions

Dan Miller's 48 Days To The Job You Love challenges us to see the difference between Vocation, a Career, and a job.

Vocationis a term used to describe one's calling, and has within it the concept of purpose. For example, many would say they want to alleviate suffering in pain in the world. I work with medical professionals, such as our hospice medical director as well as home health aids. Yet those in both of these health care professions would voice their calling as a desire to alleviate suffering.

A career then, is just a specific employment path that one can choose to fulfill a calling. As such, there are many careers committed to reducing pain and suffering that can be chosen in fulfilling our vocational calling.

Then there is what we call the 9 to 5 job, which is usually a temporary employment opportunity that, while being a way to earn income, may or may not be your chosen career, and so is not a fulfillment of one's calling.

So focus on defining your God given purpose, expressing your vocational calling in terms that are life-long. Check out 48 Days To The Work You Love to help you as you change career direction.
