Link Exchange Theme For Trading Reciprocal Links

"Link Exchange Theme Questioned As To Value Of Trading Reciprocal Links To Increase Page Rank"

In developing a link exchange theme, Change-Career-With-Purpose.com use to be open to trading a reciprocal link with other websites.

Now there are questions if a truly beneficial link exchange program helps website owners. Previously it was thought that exchanging links benefited both website link participants.

I too am reconsidering the value of trading reciprocal links to other web sites on a link exchange basis. If you want to have a link on our change career web site and be listed in a traditional reciprocal link exchange directory, we are not interested.

Trading Reciprocal Links Is Anything But Easy Within Our Link Exchange Theme

To be honest, the primary reason I now want to make it difficult to trade website links is that I am tired of link exchanging programs whereby site owners simply do a reciprocal link exchange.

You know the drill, you add a prescribed link to your website and I do the same. Looking back, the link exchange results I have received for the most part are neither beneficial to this website nor reciprocal.

For now, I am returning to what I once thought was a cumbersome website linking process, which is outlined here:

Reciprocal Link Exchange Requirements That Make Sense

  1. The link/resource page where you will be placing our url information must be within one or two clicks from the home page. (There is no value to me in being listed on a page with 200 other website links in what appears to be a link farm.
  2. The page where my link will reside MUST have some Google Page rank (PR), preferably 3 or higher. (For example, no 0 PR pages will be accepted, because trading reciprocal links with sites with a page rank of 0 hurts my page rank. You see, this is where the value of the reciprocal link is.)

  3. All links must be static links and link directly to the site without passing through a dynamic linking code.(Yes, there are some who want my link to go to their website but the link listing for my site does not return to my site.)
  4. The link information must bring value to both websites. The real question is why should I send people searching for information I can give them to your site, where you want to give them exactly the same information, thus taking away ministry funding opportunities existing on my website?
  5. Understand that exchanging links is a privilege and that I take into consideration the mindset of those who visit my website. In fact, I have a simple rule: should I question the value of the link as to the needs of my website visitors, it will simply be removed from my site.

Please be sure that you meet all reciprocal link exchanging requirements or your link exchange request will not be accepted. If you send a direct request, I doubt I will respond to your request for a reciprocal link.

Remember that the idea behind reciprocal link trading is that both parties find benefit from doing so.

For example, linking to WorldVillage Ministry Opportunities is an example of a reciprocal link exchange whereby I benefit by being on both sides of the link. The WorldVillage site is a family friendly website that I write articles on Ministry Opportunities.

I even make money off the Adsense ads by linking to a site with a high page rank.

There you have it, the details of my revised link exchange theme.

So if link exchanging has been anything but a beneficial link exchange process for you, join the club.

By the way, if your reciprocal link exchange efforts have not added value to your websites page rank, you may want to make the link exchanging process tougher as outlined at http://www.change-career-with-purpose.com/link-exchange.
